About the Anja Rosenberg Kosher Food Pantry at JFS

Many families in the Greater Hartford community are struggling to put food on the table. They make difficult choices between paying rent, keeping the lights on, or buying groceries for the week.

The Anja Rosenberg Kosher Food Pantry at JFS supports people in need with healthy, culturally appropriate food when they need it most. Over the past three years, we’ve had over 10,000 visits to the pantry, and we currently serve 380 people.

As a choice food pantry model, people are offered healthy and varied food options, and a nutritionist is available for consultation. They come to the pantry two times per month to select items that fit their family’s dietary needs and preferences.

We also recognize that people often have other stressors and challenges in addition to hunger. We support clients with services to address these challenges including mental health support, case management, financial coaching, technology for older adults, and more.

The Anja Rosenberg Kosher Food Pantry serves all people regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, disability, gender, or sexual orientation. No one is turned away empty-handed. With your support, we will continue to meet the vital needs of Greater Hartford families.
