Growing Support for Generations: JFS’s Birdies for Charity Campaign

This year, your generosity helped JFS’s endowment go the distance.
Thanks to our generous supporters, JFS’s 2026 Travelers Championship Birdies for Charity campaign raised an incredible $57,733.45 to grow our Endow Hartford 21 Fund at the Jewish Community Foundation. These gifts will help sustain the care and services our neighbors rely on for generations to come.
The Zachs Family Foundation helped launch the campaign with a generous $3,000 contribution. Through Birdies for Charity, gifts received by June 28 were eligible for a 15% match from sponsors Webster Bank and Aetna, giving every donation even greater impact.
And by reaching a $20,000 fundraising goal, JFS also unlocked an additional $1,000 contribution from the Zachs Family Foundation.
“We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed, to the Zachs Family Foundation for inspiring this effort, and to the Travelers Championship Birdies for Charity program for helping our community’s generosity go further,” shared JFS CEO, Katie Hanley. “The success of this campaign means that JFS is even better positioned to support the community in the years ahead.”
An Investment in JFS’s Future
An endowment turns today’s generosity into an ongoing source of support. Contributions are invested, and a portion of the earnings are distributed each year to support JFS’s mission while the remaining funds continue to grow.
For JFS, that means a lasting foundation for helping families access food, supporting older adults as they age, and connecting individuals facing difficult circumstances with compassionate support.
Last year, distributions from JFS’s endowed funds at the Jewish Community Foundation provided $150,849.45 in support for our mission. The $57,733.45 raised through Birdies for Charity adds to the invested funds that make these annual distributions possible.
