Understanding Legacy Giving: Debunking 3 Common Myths

Legacy giving is the ultimate expression of your values and your belief in the future of JFS and the local Jewish community. Your legacy gift in your will, trust, retirement account or life insurance policy to JFS will provide lasting support for our mission and Greater Hartford’s Jewish community.
3 Common Myths about Legacy Giving

What Is the Life & Legacy Program?
When you commit to a legacy gift to JFS, you become part of Greater Hartford’s LIFE & LEGACY program, in partnership with the Jewish Community Foundation and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation. Life & Legacy promotes after-lifetime giving to benefit JFS and 10 other local Jewish organizations. It has secured 479 commitments and $14.6 million in estimated future after-lifetime gifts to help build a strong future for Jewish Hartford. In fact, $1.4 million has already been realized in gifts to funds at the Foundation!
