In 2025-2026, JFS conducted a Kosher Food Insecurity Study in Jewish communities across Connecticut.

We are using the results to strengthen communal advocacy and improve access to kosher food.

BACKGROUND, GOALS & COMPONENTS

JFS and Rosov Consulting conducted the statewide study in 2025-2026 to better understand kosher food insecurity.

The study included:

  • A statewide survey of Jewish adults administered in September 2025
  • Interviews with communal professionals conducted in June 2025
  • An extrapolation of food insecurity prevalence in the Jewish community using public data

On May 28, 2026, JFS hosted a virtual Lunch & Learn presentation exploring key findings from the study and discussing their implications for our community.
