JFS Hartford Family Services Community Support

JETS – Jewish Employment Transition Services
Provides Help Finding a Job

The JETS Program is one of the only Volunteer/Facilitator led programs of its kind in the country, and has been the recipient of an Innovation Award from the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford and the Connecticut Council of Family Service Agencies Award.  All the Human Resource professionals are vetted and fully approved by Jewish Family Services prior to being retained.

The combination of resume assistance, job profiling, interview preparation, money coaching, emotional support, a kosher food pantry and a large networking group continues to give participants the edge they need to find a job in today’s competitive marketplace.

Since 2009 when JETS started, we have presented more than 500 programs to the JETS/Schmoozers Group and provided free counseling services (resume assistance, career counseling, interview prep, money coaching, networking tips, etc.) to more than 4,500 people.

You don’t have to be Jewish

JETS is open to anyone who is unemployed or underemployed and is seeking employment.and there are no fees of any kind,  so please feel free to refer anyone you know who may benefit from our job search activities.

If you have any questions about participating in JETS or volunteering for the JETS program, call us at 860-236-1927 ext.7129, or email cdaigle@jfshartford.org.

Two Workshops Each Month

JETS offers two workshops each month that address a wide range of career-oriented topics. Our workshops are now offered via Zoom video conferencing so that you can safely get support for your job search.

Schmoozer’s Job Network

80% of people who find jobs do so by networking. Part of JETS is the Schmoozer’s Job Network which is one hour of coffee and networking followed by a two-hour professional presentation on a job-transition topic and a Q & A period.

Our informal networking opportunities help participants connect and build contacts with prospective employers.
