Community Support

TANF Case Management

TANF Case Management helps families referred by the Department of Social Services (DSS) achieve self-reliance and success in employment, education, and community building.  As a liaison between families and community resources, operating on a case management model, TANF Case Management helps families identify and reduce the barriers to employment, increase access to community resources, and minimize risks to their children.  Specific areas of focus include:

  • Goal setting
  • Child care needs
  • Developing job skills
  • Issues with children
  • Stress management
  • Budgeting
  • Communication skills
  • Transportation
  • Work – life balance
  • Housing
  • Developing self-reliance.

Some services are offered in the family’s home on a non-traditional work schedule (outside of 8 AM to 5 PM).  For more information about TANF Case Management, please email Joan Margolis or call her at 860-236-1927 x7094.

TANF Case Management is a statewide welfare to work initiative of the Connecticut Council of Family Service Agencies, under contracts with the State of Connecticut Department of Social Services and Department of Labor.
