The Jewish Employment Transition Services (JETS) Program helps people find employment through workshops, networking, and Human Resources services. You don't have to be Jewish, and there are no fees of any kind.
JETS offers two workshops each month that address a wide range of career-oriented topics. Workshops are held at 8 AM on designated Wednesdays at Beth El Temple, 2626 Albany Avenue, in West Hartford. Please check the Jewish Family Services calendar for the exact schedule.
80% of people who find jobs do so by networking. Part of JETS is the Schmoozer’s Job Network which is one hour of coffee and casual networking followed by a two-hour professional presentation on a job-transition topic and a Q & A period.
Our informal networking opportunities help participants connect and build contacts with prospective employers.
Other JETS support includes:
- Human Resources services – resume assistance, career counseling, and interview preparation – available to all participants one-on-one by request.
- Financial counseling through The Money Coach, an expert in financial planning, available to answer individual financial questions on scheduled Wednesdays by appointment at Jewish Family Services.
- Job Search Work Teams facilitated by JETS members.
- Counseling to help people coping with the stressor of job loss and economic uncertainty.
Since 2010, JETS has helped over 3,000 people network to find jobs.
JETS is open to anyone who is unemployed or underemployed and is seeking employment.
