Community Support at Jewish Family Services serves two purposes: to help people in temporary need who never expected to need support, and to provide a means for the Jewish community to engage more deeply in the Jewish concept of tikkun olam, or “repairing the world.”
Jewish Family Services embraces the idea of communities serving communities. Food donors support the community of people in need of food assistance. Employers provides advice, guidance, perspective and emotional support to the community of people who are looking for work. Our entire community supports the community of Holocaust survivors who still bear scars from 70 years ago.
Community support is the building block for building stable and emotionally healthy individual lives, and for advancing the Jewish tradition of caring and compassion.
